Yes. Wet areas are waterproofed before tiling using a membrane system applied to the Australian Standard for waterproofing of domestic wet areas (AS 3740), with correct falls to the drain created during screeding.

A typical full bathroom renovation takes around two to four weeks on site, depending on the size of the room, drying times for screed and waterproofing, and whether the layout is changing. We confirm a schedule before work starts.

Yes. You are welcome to supply your own tiles, or we can advise on suitable tiles and materials for the area, including large-format porcelain, natural stone, mosaics and slip-rated floor tiles for wet and outdoor areas.

Plumbing and electrical work on our renovations is carried out by the in-house ASA Tiling team, so there is one point of contact and one schedule for the whole project rather than several separate contractors.

Typically three to five weeks on site once cabinetry is ready: demolition and floor preparation in the first week, tiling and rough-in in the second, cabinetry and benchtops next, then the splashback, electrical fit-off and appliance connection.

We coordinate cabinetry and benchtop suppliers as part of the renovation and make sure the tiling, plumbing and electrical are sequenced around their installation.

Sometimes, if the existing floor is sound and level. In most cases we remove the old finish and screed or level the floor so the new tiles sit flat and last.

Yes. We remove existing tiles, repair or screed the substrate and prepare the surface so the new tiles are flat, level and bonded properly.

It depends on the tile size and format, the layout, the condition of the substrate and the room. Large-format, mosaic and pattern layouts take longer than standard formats. We quote after seeing the space and the tiles.

Yes. We tile shops, cafés, offices and other commercial spaces across Melbourne, and can work around trading hours where required.

Common signs are damp or bubbling paint on the other side of the wall, swollen skirting boards, loose tiles, mould that keeps returning, or a musty smell. We inspect the joints, tiles and drain to find the cause.

Silicone joints typically last five to ten years. If it is cracking, peeling or blackened with mould, it should be removed and re-applied before water gets behind the tiles.

Most tiled splashbacks are installed in one day and grouted the next. Slab and stone splashbacks may need templating first.
